About Me

About me,

Born in Switzerland I perused a career in the Baking and Pastry Arts, after a 3 year apprenticeship and a couple of years earning my journey man certification, I felt the urge to travel. First stop was Bermuda where I worked for three and a half years. In 1987 I moved to Ottawa and soon found myself working for the legendary Chateau Laurier. By 1997 it was time to explore the west coast of Canada and the coastal mountains, I joined the Chateau Whistler, as Executive Pastry Chef. After only 3 years in the snow and cold I felt a need to warm up a little and jumped at the opportunity to transfer to the beautiful warm weather and blue waters of Bermuda, back to where my Hotel career began. I worked at the Southampton Hotel for 8 years until yet another exciting opportunity came calling, the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Grand Cayman. 2 years ago I was lucky enough to join the culinary instructor team at SAIT, and with that started my new path as an instructor. Not a day has gone by where I am not aware of how fortunate I am to have found my new passion and purpose.
I am married to my amazing spouse whom I met in Cayman and has made the time on the island ever more special. I have two wonderful grown up Kids, both of them are very successful in their own fields.
In my spare time I love to cycle, both mountain biking and road riding, running, hiking and tennis, in the winter I love to cross country ski or just take long walks.
